Mons, Belgium and Toulouse, France, 12 September 2006.
Acapela Group, the first European speech group, will be present at Apple Expo, at which it will present its range of products and solutions for Macintosh users. This year, a major innovation will be introduced in the field of accessibility: Infovox iVox, a solution developed jointly with the distribution partner, AssistiveWare.
Infovox iVox is a solution that allows the high quality Acapela voices to be used in all applications compatible with the Mac OS X Speech Manager, including TextEdit, Preview, Acrobat Reader, Proloquo, AppleWorks, etc., as well as a number of educational titles. Infovox iVox can also be used with Tiger's integrated screen reader technology called VoiceOver. The product functions on both Mac PowerPCs and Mac Intels.
The languages currently available are: American and British English, French, German, Italian, Dutch, Flemish, Spanish, Portuguese, Danish, Norwegian and Swedish. Acapela offers a wide selection of high quality male, female and even child (American) voices for each language.
"Thanks to our collaboration with Acapela Group, Mac OS X users around the world get access to the best voices ever on the Mac", enthused David Niemeijer, AssistiveWare's CTO.

Our joint efforts make it possible to offer the Apple community innovative solutions such as Proloquo, or even the new product, VisioVoice, which meet a genuine market need", stated Antoine Kauffeisen, Vice-President and Marketing Director of Acapela Group.
