Enabling industry-first CDMA v GSM Competitive Benchmarking for Operators...
Surrey, UK, 12 October 2006 – Argogroup, the leader in user experience optimization for mobile services, has announced the availability of its award-winning quality management platform, Monitor Master, for CDMA operators. Monitor Master’s active testing capabilities will provide CDMA operators with the same ability that GSM operators have exploited for the last five years. CDMA operators will be able simulate users to test and monitor their voice and data services - messaging, browsing, and streaming – to ensure end-to-end quality of the network services. Argogroup has already successfully deployed its Monitor Master technology against a range of services on CDMA networks for North American operators.
With worldwide CDMA subscriber figures in excess of 270 million – of which over 185 million of those are CDMA, 1xRTT and EV-DO subscribers* – CDMA operators need, more than ever, to make sure their networks and services deliver the quality levels dictated by SLAs customer expectations. Monitor Master provides support for CDMA voice call testing, 1xRTT, and EVDO-based data services and will be extended in the future as new CDMA technologies are launched. Due to be launched later this year, Monitor Master Version 8 will add native support for the new EVDO revision A at 3.1Mbps speeds.
Commenting on the development Thomas Renz, Vice President of Products at Argogroup, said, "The quality of mobile services from the users’ perspective is the most important success factor to ensure the successful uptake of new and exciting mobile services - regardless of the underlying network.” Renz continues, “Monitor Master’s new CDMA capabilities will bring our rich understanding and capabilities for testing complex voice and data services to the CDMA world - as well as content providers worldwide who need to assure their media offerings work well on the broadest range of operator and carrier infrastructures."
As with all of the other radio access networks (RAN’s) supported by Monitor Master - including GSM, HSDPA, TD-SCDMA - the new CDMA connectivity is provided by Argogroup's plug-and-play X1000 hardware architecture. This Argogroup X1000 architecture supports the unique ability to simultaneously use GSM and CDMA connections in the same probe - vital for inter-operator competitive benchmarking.
“To be able to compare the performance of one carrier’s services against those of its competition - whatever their network – is a critical tool for visionary operators committed to staying ahead of their local competition. The consumer also benefits from the improvement in quality of service which results from competitive benchmarking,” Renz concluded.
