PolyServe Inc. today announced three new appointments to its sales and technical teams as part of the company’s ambitious growth strategy in the UK and EMEA. Pre-sales technical manager David Robinson and sales managers Nick Coombs and Neil O’Keefe join PolyServe immediately, adding their skills and years of industry experience to the UK team.
PolyServe’s EMEA operation was founded mid-last year and has already grown to be responsible for around 25% of the company’s overall revenues. Now more than 500 organisations worldwide are deploying PolyServe's products to build computing utilities for mission-critical database services and file services. These three new appointments will drive growth in the key sectors for PolyServe – financial services, telecommunications, energy and media.
The new team members will report directly to Chris Gomersall, general manager for PolyServe EMEA, who sees the recent hires as a strategic move for the company: “David, Nick and Neil are highly experienced industry professionals, who will contribute a wealth of knowledge to the team. They will be instrumental in driving PolyServe towards its next phase of growth in the UK and throughout EMEA.”
David Robinson, in his role as pre-sales manager for EMEA, will be responsible for supporting the business in a technical capacity. Dave and his team will field all technical enquiries for PolyServe’s customers and partners.
David joins PolyServe from Novell where he worked for three years as the senior technical architect in its identity management practice. He worked on major identity management projects across Europe for blue chip customers including; BT, Standard Life, TurkCell and BUPA. Prior to Novell, David was the European technical director for Bowstreet, the technical director for Northern Europe at NetScape and iPlanet, and spent seven years with Oracle in many different capacities.
Nick Coombs, as a sales manager for PolyServe, will be responsible for the financial services sector and hopes to expand PolyServe’s already strong customer base in that area. Nick comes to PolyServe from his most recent role with Veritas where he was a key member of the financial services team. Prior to that, Nick was with Morse for eight years and began his career as a consultant for HP where he worked for six years.
Neil O’Keefe also joins PolyServe as a sales manager, where he will be heading up the telecommunications, energy and media sectors throughout the UK. Neil most recently worked at SearchSpace for several years, where he managed the European IBM partnership and secured major clients including the Co-op Bank and others throughout Southern Africa. Neil also spent seven years at Sequent in a sales capacity.
These appointments follow the recent news that PolyServe Database Utility™ for SQL was honored by Windows IT Media, winning the Best of Tech Ed 2006 Award for Most Innovative Product.
