Touching Tomorrow’s Technology Today...

Barcelona – 19 February 2007 – CeBIT 2007 in Hannover will see SMC Networks presenting a host of solutions and products, focusing on switching (including 10 Gigabit), VDSL/VDSL2, WLAN and VoIP. On three workplaces on Stand E09 in Hall 13, visitors can get a hands-on experience of SMC technologies and their many benefits. Together with technology partners such as “The Cloud”, a leading provider and operator of wireless networks in Europe, SMC will showcase its wide range of wireless and networking products.

Wireless
Visitors to the stand will be able to experience SMC’s new Draft-n wireless broadband router, the SMCWBR14-N, which features Wi-Fi Protected Set Up, MIMO multi-antenna technology and Intelligent StreamEngineTM Technology, thereby securing the bandwith and the Quality of Service (QoS) required by the latest multimedia and VoIP applications. Next generation SMC draft-N wireless broadband routers with built-in gigabit switch will be on display, as well as the Draft-N PCI- and CardBus adapters.

Voice over IP
For those who have not had the chance to see or test the new WSKP100 Wi-Fi Phone for Skype, the SMC stand is the place to be as there will be the chance to try out this IF Design award-winning Skype phone. Many new accessories will also be on show, including phone-carrying desktop chargers with a built-in wireless access point.

At this year’s show in Hannover, SMC Networks will further demonstrate its increased focus on Voice over IP (VoIP) and will display its portfolio of IP telephony solutions. The new all-in-one IP PBX interface between telephony and data networks enables easy management of the connected SIP Phone accounts, including answer-phone and voicemail.

Furthermore, both a desktop SIP Phone and a Wireless Wi-Fi based SIP Phones will be presented; the wireless phone provides mobility around the office and the desktop version enables connection directly to the company LAN network or to a PC.

SMC, one of the world’s leading VoIP vendors, has introduced its new solutions and products as a next-generation replacement for traditional telephony technology, both in corporations and in private homes. The new “TigerVoip” Product family offers a cost effective integration of new end-devices into existing systems. SMC will significantly enhance its focus on market for VoIP solutions with a special focus on SMB segment.

High-speed switching
The third focus area for SMC at this year’s CeBIT is ‘switching’. SMC will be showing a number of switches from its broad offering, from unmanaged-, smart- and Chassis-based switches, to managed switching products. Live demos incorporating the newest products and solutions will be performed by network specialists from SMC Networks, who will be on hand to answer questions from the visiting guests.

Visitors who have a special interest in reliable high-speed data connections using existing cabling will find complete solutions and products at the SMC stand at CeBIT. Various VDSL/VDSL2 products will be present, which support the latest and fastest technology, providing data speeds of 250 Mbit/s whilst using existing conventional telephone copper cables. The stand will house a typical ‘hospitality’ set-up, featuring a switch, a splitter and a modem. SMC has previously realised a large number of VDSL projects and, in the coming months, will further increase their market share with new VDSL2 solutions.
