TERMINALFOUR, a European leader in enterprise content management software, today, announced the release of TERMINALFOUR Site Manager 5.3, a new release of its leading-edge enterprise content management product. The new release, which was directly driven by customer needs identified through our user group and conference, builds on the software’s usability and versatility.

New features that have been added or enhanced include end user image manipulation, content version comparisons, eForms and self service improvements, greater user access rights reporting, improved facilities to support complex meta tagging and taxonomy schemes (such as IPSV in the UK public sector) and tighter integration with portal technologies such as Sharepoint and Oracle Portal..

Image Manipulation
Images from digital cameras, scans and mobile phones are increasingly being added to websites but are often too large, both in pixel dimensions and file size. In the past, content contributors were expected to provide web-ready images to the system. This required an understanding of image optimisation and web image formats. TERMINALFOUR Site Manager 5.3 addresses this problem by facilitating image manipulation and resizing of images based on external devices. The end-user can upload an image from a local file system and scale and optimise to obtain a satisfactory web image. TERMINALFOUR Site Manager uniquely retains the high resolution image so that if in a number of years time the website design facilities larger images, the images can be automatically (and centrally) manipulated without loosing quality.

Content Comparison
TERMINALFOUR goes beyond simple visual comparison of documents with a powerful records management grade content comparison module that ensures that users reviewing or auditing content are aware of all the changes that have been made to a particular piece of information. The comparisons can be undertaken at numerous levels depending on the level of detail required by the user. This assures the accuracy of published information, helps with content translation into other languages and supports regulatory compliance. Historical documents can be retrieved and compared instantly, regardless of the draft version.

Piero Tintori, managing director, TERMINALFOUR, said, “The latest version of Site Manager builds on the software’s usability, accessibility and versatility for managing and sharing information across the enterprise. Site Manager 5.3 builds upon its reputation for delivering value and a quick return on investment”.
