Unified Threat Management (UTM) vendor releases solution for centralised administration of multiple security appliances...

London and Karlsruhe (Germany), (12th April, 2007) – Astaro Corporation (www.astaro.co.uk), a leader in delivering unified threat management (UTM) security appliances, today announced the release of Astaro Command Center (ACC) 1.4. ACC 1.4 is designed for large enterprises and managed service providers and simplifies time-consuming administration tasks by enabling central management of multiple unified threat management (UTM) gateways.

ACC 1.4 is a highly scalable turnkey solution that allows security managers to centrally control hundreds, or even thousands, of appliances. Administrators are able to efficiently set up security policies, configure applications via direct access, and maintain device software and pattern updates. The health status of selected devices is available in concise diagrams and charts, allowing IT administrators to generate real-time information and supervise critical system parameters of Astaro Security Gateways installed worldwide.

Walter Schumann, VP sales and marketing EMEA, said, “In addition to simplifying security management for our enterprise customers, partners, system vendors, and service providers are now able to provide managed security services for Astaro Security Gateways. The ability to offer specialised managed security services, like mail traffic inspection, filtering of spam messages, detection and blocking of hacker attacks, and comprehensive security management has become more attractive as SMEs search for ways to avoid time-consuming and costly administration work, and reduce personnel.”

ACC Version 1.4 fully supports Astaro’s recently released unified threat management solution, Astaro Security Gateway (ASG) V7. ACC 1.4 uses the ASG V7 GUI, integrating Ajax (Asynchronous JavaScript And XML) to speed up configuration. As a result, security administrators are equipped with comprehensive monitoring functionality when deploying Astaro Security Gateways as well as active/active clustering, connecting up to ten nodes without external load-balancing in a single cluster, global inspection of pattern versions, UPS battery charge monitoring, and Up2Date cache for all V7 packets.
