...Kim Cameron Joins Line-up For eema’s 20th Anniversary In Paris, 12th - 13th June...

eema, the Independent European e-Identity & Security Association, today released the agenda and the keynote speakers for its 20th Anniversary Annual conference. Taking place in Paris, the European e-identity Conference presents an agenda of high profile industry experts, including the ‘father of identity’, Architect of Identity and Access in the Connected Systems at Microsoft, Kim Cameron.

The conference brings together eema and ENISA (the European Network and Information Security Agency) once again, with both organisations running a track throughout the two days. Delegates and speakers will explore pertinent topics around electronic identity, for businesses, citizens and government, including how to enable audit access controls across a network, understanding the legal implications of privacy, compliance legislation, the impact of personal digital identities and the role of web services’ standards, and implementing an identity management project.

Kim Cameron, who delivers his keynote on the 12th June, has won numerous awards including Digital Identity World’s Innovation Award, as well as being named as one of the 50 most powerful people in networking. He also runs the Identity Blog (www.identityblog.com) and is author of the Laws of Identity, which theorises why identity management schemes succeed or fail. During the keynote, Cameron will address the concept of the ‘identity metasystem’, which will make safe digital commerce possible while respecting privacy, putting users in control, and reducing the liability of its participants.

“eema brings together key European IT architects and industry leaders, and I look forward to presenting my work and hearing about other experiences and electronic identity projects,” says Cameron. “At the conference I will be focusing on an identity metasystem that reaches across platforms, vendors and all other boundaries. Users will never understand identity unless it works consistently across the whole Internet. Forums like eema’s bring together thought leaders who can in turn bring about the emergence of this consistent approach.”

Other expert speakers hosting sessions and leading discussions include Strategy Manager, e-Security at conference gold sponsor Thales, Steve Brunswick, Franz-Josef Nölke from Siemens, Director at Orange, Philippe Duluc, David Ramirez of Alcatel, Keiron Salt of BT and Dr Mireille Levy, Head Identity Management Standards at the Identity and Passport Service UK.

Executive Director of eema, Roger Dean says, “This is eema’s 20th Anniversary conference so we are celebrating, but it is also important because the emerging set of identity services and technology available will impact companies so strongly, and businesses need to be aware of this.” Dean, who will also be speaking at the conference, added, “We will provide a mix of presentations, panel discussions, round tables and question and answer sessions which will cover all the significant areas of identity relevant to business and citizen alike.”

The European e-Identity Conference takes place 12th – 13th June at the Radisson SAS Hotel in Paris. Registration to attend eema’s annual conference is free of charge for members and €900 plus VAT for non-members.
