Crossbeam Systems, Inc., the leader in enterprise- and carrier-class Unified Threat Management (UTM) solutions for the world's largest networks, has announced that its leadership in the high-end UTM market has been validated for the ninth consecutive quarter by IDC. According to results released in the IDC Worldwide Quarterly Security Appliance Tracker, June 2007, Crossbeam was number one in terms of both revenue and units sold over $50,000.

Data contained in the IDC report showed that in Q1 2007, Crossbeam was number one in sales and revenue among top security appliance vendors in the high-end UTM market. IDC defines this category as UTM products that cost at least $50,000 per unit.

"When large enterprises and service providers evaluate security technology, they are looking for the best - the best firewall, the best antivirus, the best intrusion prevention technology," said Pete Fiore, president and CEO of Crossbeam Systems. "And quarter after quarter, these customers choose Crossbeam over all the rest as the foundation to enhance and scale these best-of-breed security applications, a fact supported by IDC's research for more than two years running."

Crossbeam Systems X-Series equipment delivers flexible, high scaling network security in perimeter, core and data centre architectures. Carriers use the X-Series to deliver a new generation of virtualised services such as firewall, VPN and intrusion prevention, while enterprises deploy the X-Series for consolidation of security equipment and faster response to the demands of the real-time enterprise.

Organisations that have selected Crossbeam can choose from a "who's who" list of security vendors and cutting-edge applications. Crossbeam has strategic partnerships with best-of-breed application vendors including Check Point, IBM Internet Security Systems, Trend Micro, Websense, Sourcefire, Imperva, Webscreen, Aladdin, and Enterasys. With more than 20 ISV partnerships, Crossbeam offers customers the greatest choice of vendors and breadth of applications to meet their evolving security requirements.
