London, UK 25th June 2007, Research just completed by Sipera Systems, a VOIP security specialist, has been welcomed by behavioural analysis IT security vendor Tier-3, for highlighting a new trend in malware distribution...
"Sipera's research, which has identified no less than seven current threats against VOIP telephony users, shows how diverse IT security threats have become," said Geoff Sweeney, CTO with Tier-3.
"Whilst specialist VOIP security software exists to protect company systems, behavioural analysis is the only real safety net that organisations need to tackle unknown threats," he added.
According to Sweeney, the list of IT security threats and solutions is growing all the time, making life something of a headache for the effective IT security manager.
"We recommend companies install several mainstream applications, covering firewall, anti-virus, anti-spam and anti-malware issues, but also use behavioural analysis technology as a safety net," he explained.
"Okay, you can add new IT security software as it arrives to your protective system, but controlling all these new applications is going to be a full-time job," he said.
