Agreements Enable Enterprises in Russia to Purchase the Full CommVault Simpana Software Suite...
LONDON, U.K. — 28th August, 2007 — CommVault® (NASDAQ: CVLT) today announced distribution agreements with two leading Russian resellers CROC Inc. and Inform Project Ltd. to resell the full suite of CommVault SimpanaTM software. These agreements mark CommVault’s entry into the Russian market.
CROC is the largest IT service provider in Russia and Inform Project is a leader in distribution and installation of IT for the Russian government. The two organizations have been active in the Russian market since 1992 and 1999, respectively. Both partners will sell and support CommVault’s full suite of data and information management software solutions throughout the Russian Federation.
“These latest agreements demonstrate our commitment to expanding our distribution channels throughout EMEA, particularly in emerging markets,” said Steven Rose, CommVault’s vice president of EMEA. “CommVault’s partnerships with CROC and Inform Project build on the momentum generated by our recent agreements with Getronics in the Middle East, BenefIT in Israel, and Bull in France.”
According to an April 2006 report by market research firm IDC, user spending in the Russian IT market reached $12 billion in 2005 and is projected to hover around 19 percent annually through 2011, while total spending is expected to more than double by 2009. IDC reported that while packaged software is still the smallest IT spend area in Russia, this segment expanded an impressive 19.6 percent in 2005 and accounted for 10.6 percent of spending that year. IDC research further indicates that growth will be around 20 percent annually through 2009, with most new business for packaged software expected to come from small and medium-sized organizations.
“Our customers want their IT investments to add value back to their business and are increasingly looking to simplify and consolidate their information management systems, while delivering enhanced functionality and flexibility as their businesses grow,” said Igor Nikulin, director of CROC’s IT department. “Due to its unique Singular Information Management™ architecture, CommVault’s software suite delivers Data Protection, Archive, Replication, Resource Management and Search as a simple, unified solution that fits the requirements of many of our customers.”
According to Dmitriy Butov, general director for Inform Project, “Russian businesses are becoming increasingly aware of the need to store information and data in a way that makes it easy to retrieve in the future. We are proud to be working with a company that Gartner has rated a ‘Strong Positive’ in its MarketScope for Enterprise Backup/Recovery, 2006 report. We feel that this validation and the breadth of solutions offered by CommVault expand the portfolio we are able to provide Russian businesses looking to simplify the data and information management complexity they face today.”
This announcement comes on the heels of CommVault’s recent launch of its next generation software, the CommVault Simpana 7.0 software suite. Building on CommVault’s proven market success with its unique, singular approach to data management, CommVault Simpana 7.0 software redefines the way companies can store, manage and retrieve enterprise information across all tiers of storage. CommVault’s full range of data and information management solutions will be made available to companies throughout the Russian Federation through the CROC and Inform Project offices.
