Boston, MA, September 10, 2007 – Anoto Group, the inventor of Anoto Digital Pen and Paper technology, will showcase its technology and several unique partner applications at AHIMA from October 6 -11 in booth 130 at the Philadelphia Convention Center. Anoto’s technology will also be highlighted in a session that details a unique practical approach for E/M assignment built on patient care, presented by Dr. Stephen R. Levinson, MD, author of Practical E/M: Documentation and Coding Solutions for Quality Patient Care.

“I immediately saw the value Anoto’s solution could bring to HIM professionals, stated Dr. Levinson, M.D. “At the heart of my presentation at AHIMA, I will illustrate a practical methodology for identifying appropriate E/M code levels during medical care, using case studies and discuss tools (i.e., Anoto Digital Pen and Paper technology, intelligent medical records, etc.) that facilitate care and documentation compliance with selected E/M codes.”

Several Anoto partners including Digital Pen Systems, Satori Labs, Halfpenny Technologies, IS2BE, and Pearson will be unveiling cutting edge applications that encompass patient data collection, patient history archiving and customized applications for digitally capturing patient information. Digital Pen Systems, a recent Anoto Gold Pen award winner, is also closely collaborating with Dr. Levinson M.D. on Digital Pen and Paper applications for HIMs.

“We are pleased at how our partners have developed exciting applications using our Anoto Digital Pen and Paper Technology to enable doctors, nurses, and practitioners the ability to capture and transform handwritten data, notes and drawings into digital formats,” says Anoto Group Chief Executive Anders Norling. “Healthcare professionals benefit through reduced costs, lower data collection errors, increased productivity and accelerated revenue.”
