Pirelli Broadband Solutions Introduces New 120 Km Xfp Optical Transceiver At ECOC 2007

Milan, 13 September 2007 -- Pirelli Broadband Solutions, the broadband access and photonics company within the Pirelli Group, today announced that it is expanding its presence in the pluggables market with the launch of a 120 km XFP Optical transceiver at the ECOC exhibition and conference, taking place in Berlin, 16-20 September 2007.

Compliant with the ITU-T G.959.1 Recommendation, Pirelli’s 120 km XFP is specifically designed to address metro TDM and WDM applications, transmitting signals up to 120 km without the need for dispersion compensation units. As with all Pirelli optical transceivers, the 120 km XFP supports SONET/SDH, 10 Gigabit Ethernet and FEC applications. The new XFP will be on display on the Pirelli stand (#15093).
