Executive Director Of eema Joins 29 Industry Leaders On EU Information Security Advisory Board...
eema, the Independent European e-Identity & Security Association, today announced that Roger Dean, Executive Director of eema has joined the ENISA (European Network and Information Security Agency) Permanent Stakeholders Group (PSG) alongside other information security experts from around the world, including former Cyber Security Advisor for The White House, Howard Schmidt and Director of Orange/France Telecom Group, Philippe Duluc, to deliberate, advise and influence both ENISA’s ongoing and future activity.
The PSG represents relevant stakeholders, uniting 30 leaders from the network and information security fields, including the information and communication technologies industries, consumer groups and academia. As well as assisting the drafting of ENISA’s annual work programme, Dean will be working closely with other PSG members and Executive Director of ENISA, Andrea Pirotti, to run ad-hoc Working Groups on specific issues and manage communications between ENISA, its members and the information security stakeholders community.
“eema and ENISA have been strategic partners for many years and regularly collaborate to produce some of the most respected and highest quality debates, conferences and projects in the information security arena,” says Executive Director of ENISA, Andrea Pirotti. “The addition of Roger Dean and his 20 years of experience in managing eema’s activity with members, users, governments and vendors, will be invaluable to the PSG.”
Dean adds, “The objective of organisations like eema and ENISA is to stimulate debate and knowledge sharing between users, vendors, citizens and government across Europe and reach common agreements, best practices and solutions. By leveraging the vast knowledge of its highly experienced members, the PSG will play a large part in identifying the best way for ENISA to collaborate with the industry on different areas and topics to achieve its goals.”
ENISA is a European Union-supported agency and Centre of Excellence in Network and Information Security, dedicated to raising awareness of information security issues affecting both the private and public sector. Its remit is to enhance the capability of the European Union, its member states and the business community to prevent, address and respond to network and information security problems.
