US Biggest Source Of Spam And Viruses In December; Korea Source Of Intrusions

The end of 2007 has seen nearly 16 percent of all viruses, and nearly 17 per cent of all spam originating from the US, according to managed security company, Network Box. The world’s largest economy took the top spot for the third month running...

Korea topped the charts as the biggest source of intrusions for December, at 23.6 per cent, followed by the US at 15.6 per cent.

The top virus threat for December was the spam.phish.url with a whopping 40.95 per cent of all viruses trapped in the run up to Christmas. This replaces the previously dominant Netsky.q, now down to nearly five per cent of all viruses in December from 40 per cent in November.
