As former Head of Consulting for Peapod UK, now incorporated into GSS, Robin’s commitment has paid dividends with consulting services contributing 50 per cent to Peapod UK’s combined business in 2006. He is keen to see it develop further within the new company which continues under the GSS brand.
“It is certainly an exciting time as we emerge as a single entity, committed to delivering information assurance to all of our 2,500 clients, and I look forward to the role I personally will play in making this a reality,” comments Robin. “2007 closed with data security high on the agenda due to a number of high profile incidents and the challenge has been set for 2008. For the consulting division the immediate focus is to continue providing the highest level of service to our clients as they rise to meet this challenge and assist them achieve corporate governance.”
Robin has been working in the IT Security arena for over 10 years. During this time he has provided indispensable advice to organisations on how to protect sensitive data, from personal client records to sensitive business plans and confidential financial results. Previously he spent 20 years as a Royal Marines Officer, during this time he passed an MSc in the Design of Information Systems and wrote the Royal Navy's Operational IT strategy and the MOD's Mobile IT Operational Strategy, before joining the Defence Industry for a couple of years. This was followed by a move into Information Security from where he was enticed into his current role.
GSS Consultants have been carrying out security reviews as bespoke consulting assignments for more than five years as Peapod Consulting (though individually, they have an average of 15-20 years experience). Its clients are diverse and range from Central Government Departments, Local Authorities, Multinational Financial Services Organisations, National Distribution and Retailers, FM Providers through to SMEs, Housing Associations and Start Ups.
