Bracknell, UK, 12 May 2008 – 3M, the diversified technology company, today announced the expansion of its Projection Systems sales team with the appointment of two new representatives in the UK. These additions reflect 3M’s investment in the advancement of Super Close Projection (SCP) technology via strengthened trade, channel and end-user support activities.

“Since introducing our SCP712 second generation projector and modular system to the AV and education markets earlier this year, we’ve had nothing but positive feedback and the number of enquiries is increasing rapidly,” commented Paul Gardner, sales and marketing manager, 3M’s Projection Systems division. “By bringing new account staff on board we will offer an enhanced level of sales support to our network of dealers, resellers and distributors across the UK, helping them to take our new system to market quickly and profitably.”

Stuart Weir has been appointed key account manager for the North of England and Scotland. He is responsible for maintaining close cooperation with dealers in his region at exhibitions, training and demonstrations, as well as technical and customer support assistance during end-user site visits. Stuart has eight years experience in the IT industry with a technical and sales background. He holds a degree in IT from Sunderland University.

Matt Coombe has joined as a key account executive for the Midlands and South of England. With four years in the AV industry and three years technical experience, Matt is well equipped to work closely with resellers, distributors and end-users, helping out with bulk orders, technical issues and improvement of customer relations in all markets. Matt started out as an installation engineer, becoming a project manager for a team of engineers before joining 3M where he has now transferred from a technical to a sales role.
