Alliance to provide advanced retail planning solutions and consulting expertise to customers, TCS to establish Galleria Centre of Excellence...
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the world-leading IT consulting and services organization, and Galleria, the leading provider of automated retail cluster, assortment and space optimization solutions, have formed a global alliance to deliver the world’s most advanced retail planning technology to an international client base.
Galleria’s technology has been proven to increase in-store compliance to planograms (diagrams that show how and where products should be placed in-store to increase sales) from 30% to more than 90%.
The partnership will bring together TCS’ extensive retail consultancy, process maturity and system integration experience, with Galleria’s unrivalled expertise in retail assortment and space optimization.
Galleria’s solutions provide value by easily integrating with a retailer’s existing systems and resources to deliver the right product to the right stores in the appropriate quantities. The net result is a significant increase in planogram compliance leading to increased sales, enhanced margins, reduced waste/mark-down and accelerated inventory turns. According to Galleria's own research, the solution typically results in a 1-3% uplift in sales.
Commenting on the partnership, Robin Teasdale, Director and Co-founder of Galleria said, “TCS is renowned for its world class IT consultancy, implementation and business process change skills, and we are delivering the most advanced retail cluster, assortment and space optimization solutions currently available. Following our work with a mutual client, a top 4 US multiple retailer based out of the mid-west, it made sense to combine these skills and work together. With TCS, we are now able to implement our solution on a much more global scale.”
“The partnership with Galleria is a part of our overall strategy to further strengthen our Retail and Consumer Goods Practice and ensure we are consistently providing best practice solutions to our clients,” said Pratik Pal, Global Retail Practice Head at TCS. “We count some of the world’s leading retailers as our clients and are dedicated to delivering solutions that help increase profitability, aid time-to-market constraints and give excellent ROI. We believe Galleria’s applications meet these requirements, and are proven to have a very real impact in terms of increasing sales by raising store compliance to central merchandising strategies.”
Scott Langdoc, Vice-President of Research at AMR commented, “To achieve profitable differentiation, retailers must combine atomic-level demand intelligence with store-specific planning and consistent, consumer-centric execution.”
Ravi Viswanathan, Vice-President, Chennai Operations at TCS said, “In support of the global partnership, TCS will establish an internal Galleria Centre of Excellence in Chennai to facilitate the delivery of IT services and integration around Galleria’s assortment and space optimization solutions. The Centre will feature a demonstration resource for clients, a proof of concept study area and an advanced training centre for TCS consultants.”
