Redruth to Rochdale, Dover to Doncaster – Vonage makes 167 new area dialling codes available to its customers...

London, September 26, 2005 – Vonage, the broadband phone company, today announced the availability of a further 167 area dialling codes for its service – which offers subscribers an alternative telephony solution via their broadband connection using their standard telephone handset. Broadband subscribers in towns and villages across the UK as diverse as Wigan and Aberystwyth can now choose a local broadband phone number to where they live, which they can keep for life.

With the roll out of the new area codes, Vonage now offers subscribers access to a total of 278 codes. Vonage is already available to subscribers in major cities and towns across the UK including London, Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh and Cardiff and the new codes mark the company’s mass market expansion in all the regions of the UK.

Unlike PC-based broadband telephony services, Vonage uses standard telephone handsets linked up to a broadband connection meaning customers do not need to be hooked up to their computer to make calls. As part of the residential package, customers receive unlimited UK and Ireland local and national calls and Vonage-to-Vonage calls completely free of charge as well as simplified low mobile and international rates. In addition, consumers benefit from a number of advanced telephony features such as call waiting, 3-way calling, call forwarding, voicemail, etc., all of which can be managed online.

“Vonage works like a standard home phone service and the new codes mean that our customers can choose a telephone number local to where they live, making the conversion to broadband telephony much more simple,” explains Kerry Ritz, Managing Director of Vonage UK. “Our aim is to make broadband telephony as accessible as possible as we want consumers and small business across the country to take advantage of the benefits that the service brings.”

Vonage customers can now choose from more than 278 geographical UK codes irrespective of where they live. In addition to the UK dialling codes, Vonage offers a range of virtual numbers in Canada, the US as well as the UK meaning that customers can take a second number in another location to give them presence in another country or region. This means that friends, family and business associates abroad can contact them for the cost of a local call.

Vonage recently announced that it has exceeded one million lines in service on its global network. For more information about Vonage and to see a full list of dialling codes available in the UK go to www.vonage.co.uk.
