Alphyra UK has announced that the market-leading First National rechargeable pre-paid international calling cards are now available on its payzone network across the UK, bringing the benefits of lower calling costs for consumers and generous commission rates of up to 40% for payzone retailers.

Consumers will be able to obtain and top up the pre-paid Go Bananas and Mad For cards at alphyra's network of retail outlets across the UK - a network nearly double the size of its nearest rival, ensuring consumers have the widest possible access to First National's market-leading calling cards.

First National's range of rechargeable pre-paid calling cards enable consumers to make discounted telephone calls from home, saving them up to 97% on standard tariffs. A range of different cards are available, depending on user preferences and call patterns, with top-ups available from £5 up to £50. New for 2006 the cards are the first in the UK to be 'VoIP enabled' - which means they can be used to save even more money by making cheaper calls over the internet by simply downloading the free software from www.fntele.com.

Retailers are set to benefit from the new addition to the payzone network, with generous commission rates available of up to 40% per transaction. The addition of the First National pre-paid calling cards will further enhance the value of the payzone brand and help retailers to drive more profit from their terminal.

The First National cards are easy to sell on the payzone terminals and work in the same way as a standard mobile top-up transaction. An additional benefit to retailers is that the calling cards are rechargeable, with top-ups meaning additional commission and value for payzone retailers.

Rupert Lowery, Managing Director of alphyra UK said: "The addition of First National has further strengthened our range of payment and financial services, delivering increased value and profit to retailers in the form of generous commission rates and the associated footfall in trade."

Chris Fairest, VP, Calling Card Business Development at First National said: "We are delighted to have joined alphyra's payzone network. alphyra has the experience and market presence to make First National's rechargeable pre-paid calling cards more accessible to consumers across the UK than ever before."
