Storage Networking World San Diego, Calif. and London, UK - April 20 2006: WysDM Software, Inc., a leading provider of innovative data protection management (DPM) solutions, and Avamar Technologies, a leading provider of innovative data protection solutions, announced today that the two companies have entered into an OEM agreement. Under the terms of the agreement, Avamar will introduce Avamar Advanced Reporter into its premier, disk-based data protection platform. WysDM continues to expand its global reach by signing the company's second OEM agreement in just six months.

"It's a good move for Avamar to offer its customers comprehensive reporting - very few backup vendors would be so bold. I like the WysDM solution. Customers can't fix things unless they know where to look," said Steve Duplessie, founder and senior analyst, Enterprise Strategy Group.

WysDM for Backups monitors and analyses data from all major components of the backup environment including servers, storage, networks and applications, and provides a comprehensive set of reports on all aspects of backup operations from service level agreements (SLAs) to regulatory compliance to per-device performance. The only true DPM solution that provides both comprehensive reports and advanced analysis even in the largest and most complex backup environments, WysDM for Backups will provide Avamar's Axion data protection platform with vital DPM capabilities including intelligent backup management, end-to-end data protection management and SLA compliance.

"With its sophisticated backup reporting data coupled with business rules and predictive analysis, WysDM is emerging as a clear leader of DPM solutions," said Steve Kenniston, vice president, corporate development, Avamar. "As data protection environments become increasingly critical to the success of their business, customers need heterogeneous management. The partnership between our two companies will provide a comprehensive data protection platform that provides visibility and a detailed understanding of the entire data protection ecosystem across multiple backup technologies."

"Avamar represents the type of innovative company with which WysDM seeks to partner," said Alan Atkinson, CEO of WysDM. "This partnership further endorses WysDM's position in the market. Not only does WysDM report across heterogeneous backup vendors, we also analyse the deepest levels of the data protection environment to optimise performance, track SLA compliance and predict future trends. No other DPM company comes close to our level of product development, and we are delighted to complement Avamar Axion with WysDM's technology to enhance customers' data protection management capabilities."
