TERMINALFOUR, a European leader in enterprise content management software, today, announced the release of TERMINALFOUR Site Manager 5.2, a new major release of its leading-edge enterprise content management product. The new release builds on the software's versatility and accessibility for managing and sharing information across the enterprise. It also fully embraces the Web 2.0 revolution and allows businesses to take advantage of the growing number of new and collaborative online web technologies, while implementing process controls essential within the modern business.

Wikis, blogs, RSS feeds and podcasts are all part of the expanding palette of Web 2.0 services available free to consumers on the Internet. TERMINALFOUR recognised that businesses should be commercialising the benefits of these new applications by creating online information communities, and improving internal and external information flows. TERMINALFOUR Site Manager 5.2 delivers an easy-to-use and open product for developers and end users to quickly and securely share information, whether over the internet, within a corporate intranet/extranet or through mobile devices.

As well as building upon its powerful eForms & Self Service functionality, first released in 2003, the new version sees additional, customer driven improvements, in a number of key areas:

Automatic Installation & Upgrade Facility including a rapid deployment mode which includes an out-of-the-box website. TERMINALFOUR Site Manager 5.2 can be quickly and easily installed or upgraded using a wizard. This enables a completely clean installation across the enterprise, with standard settings and consistency checks. A pilot version of TERMINALFOUR Site Manager 5.2 is also now available to organisations, enabling them to build a sample website with a comprehensive set of demo content within two hours.

Leading edge usability improvements to enhance the end user experience when creating accessible content, in particular tabular data. The new version of TERMINALFOUR Site Manager continues to help organisations to meet the highest standards of accessibility and compliance. A key accessibility feature is its new and simplified method for managing and accessing awkward content, such as tabular data, within the organisation. This helps to meet regulations such as the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) - for people with disabilities. For example, TERMINALFOUR Site Manager 5.2 can help transport companies to provide easy-to-read timetables for all customers.

Other areas of improved functionality include the extension of metadata management functionality to give organisations the flexibility they require to meet the new Dublin Core Metadata standards and, as an option, intelligently and automatically pre-populate metadata.

Piero Tintori, managing director, TERMINALFOUR, said, "The latest version of Site Manager provides the most advanced and intuitive functionality for content management in the enterprise. It allows businesses to take full advantage of the new ways that people are using the Internet, following the recent rapid developments in collaborative web technology. We have also continued to add features to further promote flexibility and open-standards to meet all web compliance requirements."
