BlackSpider Technologies, the on-demand security service of SurfControl plc., has signed a deal with the FA Premier League (FAPL) to protect its users from spam and viruses. FAPL will use BlackSpider’s email filtering service, MailControl, to protect itself from junk emails and email-delivered threats such as viruses and malware.
Prior to using BlackSpider, FAPL was using another leading on-demand security services provider. Simon Thunder, IT & Telecommunications Manager, FAPL, explains the organisation’s decision to switch to BlackSpider: “We did our research and spoke to a number of BlackSpider’s existing clients, several of which are football clubs, and the references were extremely positive. It became clear immediately that the company offer a very professional service that provides excellent value for money.
“We were also very impressed with BlackSpider’s customer service and technical support; they are very knowledgeable and responsive, which makes a big difference when you have an issue that needs resolving quickly. Although, the fact that I rarely use the helpdesk is testament to the quality of their service.”
“Finally, its online reporting and management portal is incredibly user friendly, and we can pool all the relevant information we need in real time.”
Ian Moyse, UK Channel Director, BlackSpider Technologies, comments: “We already have several football clubs using our service, including Reading and Birmingham City, and we expect to add more. Being chosen by the FA Premier League is a great endorsement of how our service provides more functionality and a higher quality of service and support.”
