Taipei, Taiwan September 8, 2006 CyberLink Corp. (5203.TW), a world leader in digital home solutions, and mobile system semiconductor company Newport Media Inc, have announced joint development of a mobile TV solution for Windows Mobile 5.0 and Linux platforms. CyberLink and Newport Media are demonstrating their software and chipset solution until September 12 at the IBC Exhibition 2006, booth M221, Amsterdam RAI Congress Center.
CyberLink Mobile TV Solution is a multi-standard, multi-band software solution that enables the decoding, playback, and recording of TV accessed via Newport Media¡¦s receiver-demodulator chipset. CyberLink's mobile TV player supports electronic service guide (ESG) information, which allows the quick previewing of TV channels via a preview window.
With our expertise in developing semiconductors for mobile TV devices, and CyberLink¡¦s strength in playback software, we' ve created a complete hardware and software solution that¡¦s ready for implementation world-wide,¨ said Newport Medias CEO, Mohy Abdelgany.
